Having joined the Conservative Party over 30 years ago, I have a long and privileged history of supporting the Wolds Weighton area, both in local councils and as an active member of the community.
Moving to Market Weighton when I got married, I worked for a local engineering company and got involved in many local issues including serving for the local, retained Fire Service.
I have always been interested in my community and the development of the area, so this naturally called me to serving in Parish Councils. I joined Sancton Parish Council 15 years ago, 7 years as the Chairman. Hungry to expand my impact, I joined Market Weighton Council 3 years later, as an elected member, and was honoured to serve as both the Deputy Chairman as well as the Mayor to the Town.
I have spent the last 12 years working in the care sector, gaining an insight into the needs of those who require support to live independently in their own homes, and the challenges of this.
This is just one of the areas that I am passionate to advocate for in Wolds Weighton, and will work tirelessly, as I have for the last decade and a half, to serve the people and our great community.
